Halo Ring Update #5
One step forward and two steps backwards. Not really but almost.
I was started to get tired of how slow my view-port was while editing and modeling while everything was enabled, so I started the quest to optimize as much as possible. All the detailing are now optimized in a way that all duplicate models generated by my heavy use of Clones and Symmetry functions are gone, I estimate i cut down on the amount of polygons with at-least half.
Once this was done I started looking at the different parts and redoing those I was not pleased with. I’m currently done with 2 of the 3 parts I identified, the ring itself have been remade and now have more subtle bevels. The “runways” as I call them have been remade, smoothed and beveled and are now waiting to get detailed and the third thing is the plating that runs along the edge of the whole ring, I will be remaking these from scratch as I’m not satisfied at all with the quality of them so far.
So this update does not show much new details or modeling but most of the heavy work that was necessary to do, is now done and the next update will hopefully contain more new detailing than just improvements and optimization’s.
